Intro This is a modern fable. The young Frenchman Lafayette and the middle-aged Italian man Nocharo wander around New York. Lafayette works at a 'Roman Museum' run by Fleckman and has a part-time job at a 'Women's Awakening Theater.' One day, he is raped by a woman from the theater, and he and Nocharo's living space is infested with mouse droppings. Subsequently, he adopts a baby ape. During the process of raising the baby ape, Nocharo accidentally fills out the wrong paperwork, turning the ape into a legitimate New York citizen. Nocharo then commits suicide, leaving his possessions to the ape. Later, Lafayette discovers that the ape has been horrifically consumed by a swarm of mice. The woman who raped him becomes his girlfriend. Fleckman has never liked monkeys, and in a fit of rage, he sets fire to the museum and Lafayette…
